One of the most successful female ski racers in American history, Lindsey Vonn was born on October 18, 1994 and grew up in Burnsville, Minn., learning to ski at an early age.
The only American woman to capture the downhill skiing gold at the 2010 Olympics (eight years after her 2002 debut) Vonn won her first World Cup at age 20. Since then, she has garnered another 59 wins. She has four overall World Cup titles and a 2010 Olympic Super G bronze medal to her name.
In 2007, the athlete (formerly known by her maiden name, Kildow) married fellow Olympic skier Thomas Vonn. Four years later, the couple divorced and Thomas gave up his role as his wife's chief advisor on the slopes. In March 2013, Vonn made news of her new romance with disgraced golfer Tiger Woods public, posting photos of the couple and a statement on her Facebook page.
