Born June 9, 1978 in Cambridge, England, Matthew Bellamy -- the front man of the band Muse -- grew up in the small town of Devon in southwest England. Bellamy comes from a musical background: his father was part of the band The Tornadoes, which was the first band from the United Kingdom to get a No. 1 record in the United States.
Muse released its first album in 1998 and is known for their larger than life performances (Bellamy once injured himself during a show in Atlanta in 2004). The band has received multiple honors over the years, including several BRIT Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, NME Awards and one Grammy Award. Muse is also a favorite of Twilight author Stephanie Meyer, who thanked them for their inspiration in New Moon and dedicated Eclipse to the band.
Bellamy began dating Kate Hudson in the spring of 2010, and nearly one year later, the pregnant actress announced she and Bellamy were engaged on the Today show. The couple welcomed son Bingham on July 9, 2011.
This is the second engagement for Bellamy; he was previously engaged to Gaia Polloni, whom he dated from 2001 to 2009.
