About

Born in 1969, Matthew Perry made it big in 1994 following the premiere of NBC’s hit new show Friends as the sarcastic Chandler Bing.

In addition to his work on Friends, he has also been in a number of hit films like 1997’s Fools Rush In with Salma Hayek and 2000’s The Whole Nine Yards with Bruce Willis. Perry starred opposite teen heartthrob Zac Efron in 2009’s 17 Again.

Following the series finale of Friends in May 2004, Perry worked in several projects before starring in Aaron Sorkin‘s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. The show, despite being nominated for several Golden Globes, was cancelled in 2007 after one season. His 2012 sitcom Go On also was only one season.

Perry has been open about struggling with his mental health and addiction to drugs and alcohol. He detailed his road to recovery in his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.

The actor was linked to several other celebs over the years, including Lauren Graham and Lizzy Caplan. In 2020, he proposed to Molly Hurwitz after four years of dating. They broke up six months later.

The actor was found dead in his Los Angeles home in October 2023. He was 54.
