Nelly Furtado

BIO

The Portuguese-Canadian singer-songwriter first entered the music scene with her 2000 hit singles "I'm Like a Bird," "Turn Off the Light" and "On the Radio."

In 2002, Furtado received four Grammy Award nominations and won for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. She released her second album, Folklore, in 2003, with the lead single "Powerless," but the new pop-tinged album was not as successful. Finally in 2006, Furtado teamed up with Timbaland to create the album, Loose, the most successful album of her career so far, with a number-one hit called "Promiscuous."

Since then, Furtado performed a duet with Timbaland on his single "Give It To Me" and released her first Spanish-language  single "Manos Al Aire" in 2009.

Furtado has been married to Cuban sound engineer Demo Castellon since July 2008, and has a daughter, Nevis, from a previous relationship.
