Serena Williams
Serena Williams grew up playing tennis with older sister Venus Williams and hit major success in 1999, earning her first title at the Open Gaz de France and first Grand Slam win in the US Open. She’s garnered a total of 23 Grand Slam singles titles and is the only player to accomplish a Golden Slam in both singles and doubles. Serena is also a four-time Olympic gold medalist, three of which she shares with her sister in women’s doubles.
Serena married Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian in 2017. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., that same year and their second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, in 2023.
Williams announced her plans to retire from tennis in a 2022 Vogue essay, and she competed in the US Open later that year. Outside of tennis, Serena has launched multiple clothing lines, including Serena and S by Serena. She also runs a venture capital firm called Serena Ventures.
