For the fall 2015 presentation, the Girls actress, 26, turned to celebrity hairstylist Rebekah Forecast, who complemented Williams’ floral Kors ensemble by creating a parted half-updo with a fishtail braid down the back, accented with a small ribbon.

“Allison has a strong sense of personal style so she always has great ideas for beauty looks,” Forecast told Us Weekly. “We drew inspiration from her outfit and based on the proportions, we knew we wanted to keep the hair back.”

Beginning with clean, towel-dried hair, Forecast worked Kerastase Resistance Mousse Volumifique from the middle to the ends of the actress’ hair, then added Serge Normant Meta Lush Volumizer to her roots. She blow-dried Williams’ chocolate tresses straight, using a flat iron to remove any rogue waves.

After that, the stylist pulled the Peter Pan Live! star’s hair back into two sections, then weaved the pieces together to create a fishtail plait. “To cover the elastic and to add a sweet—but not too sweet—touch, I tied a leather bow to the end of the braid,” Forecast told Us.

However, Michael Kors wasn’t Williams’ only stop that day. After the show, the actress headed uptown to New York’s 92Y, where during a panel discussion, she defended her father, journalist Brian Williams, who’s been in the hot seat since making false claims about his time in Iraq in 2003.

“It’s been tough… Obviously, toughest on my dad, who bears the full burden of responsibility for it, but one thing the experience has not done is shake my trust and belief in him as a man,” Williams began. “He’s a really good man. He’s an honest man. He’s a truthful man. He has so much integrity. He cares so much about journalism.”

“And yes, he’s a really good dad,” the actress added. “I know you can trust him because, as any good daughter does, I’ve tested him on that.”
