Christian Grey’s about to change his preference to short-haired brunettes!
Dakota Johnson had one very important mission on Wednesday, April 15: to get her long brunette tresses cut into a short lob hairstyle.
Snapped leaving an NYC salon, the Fifty Shades of Grey actress, 25, unveiled the new ‘do, which just brushes her shoulders. Johnson did, however, hold onto her Anastasia Steele-brunette hue (she’s a natural blonde) and her fringed bangs.
Working the streets like a true New Yorker, Johnson, whose parents are Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, modeled a dark ensemble. The 21 Jump Street actress topped a black tee and black skinny jeans off with a houndstooth coat, and added chocolate loafers.
By the time she made it down the street, Johnson had already tied her short hair into a half-up hairstyle, proving that while it might not be able to be braided (sorry, Mr. Grey), it’s still quite versatile.
If Johnson was hoping to hide from her immense fan base with the makeover, there’s probably little luck there—not that she regrets anything. “I think about my dwindling anonymity,” she confessed to Vogue earlier this year. “[But] I wanted to [do Fifty] because it’s so different—it’s an intense love story.”
