Men might enjoy break-overs, too!
Just months after splitting from his longtime girlfriend Freida Pinto, Dev Patel stepped out to attend the NYC premiere of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel—except, we almost didn’t recognize him.
The Slumdog Millionaire alum, 24, who’s been rocking a clean-shaven look since he broke out with the film at age 16, appeared much more mature on the red carpet on Tuesday, March 3. Not only was he working grown-out locks, long enough to curl up at the nape of his neck, but he also modeled a mustache and beard.
While fans might be surprised by such a big change, Patel, for one, is pleased with his appearance. When Us Weekly asked how he was enjoying the scruff, he replied in earnest, “I like it!”
Adding even more sophistication to his style, Patel, who most recently starred in HBO’s The Newsroom, donned a very gentlemanly, caramel-hued corduroy suit by Salvatore Ferragamo, which he teamed which a matching, striped tie and leather Christian Louboutin oxfords (styled by Ilaria Urbinati).
The entire style and beauty transformation was a huge departure from his signature style. At both a Slumdog Millionaire screening in NYC in 2009 and the season three Newsroom premiere in L.A. this past November, Patel looked dapper yet youthful in his slim-fit blazers, paired with a trimmed crop and smooth face.
