Au revoir, ombre!
The last time Drew Barrymore made a public appearance, she was both very pregnant and very blonde. In keeping with the traditional theme of going darker for fall, the Blended actress showed off rich new auburn locks at The London 2014 Stella McCartney Green Carpet Collection event on Sept. 14.
Barrymore’s new hue is likely the work of a single process color transition, a dramatic departure from the 39-year-old star’s signature look she’s known for.
While she tends to stick to ombre, the color varies from blonde to dark brown. “I can never sit still, the Blended star told Into the Gloss in 2013 of her frequent vists to colorist Tracey Cunningham.
The actress is a certified hair chameleon, bravely rocking a bevy of contrasting looks over the years from sandy blonde, to platinum, to bright red.
To complement her newest hue, Barrymore kept her makeup light and natural, with just a swipe of orangey-red lipstick. She wore a muted black smock dress to the event, allowing her new hair color to steal the spotlight.
