A little overreaction? Lea Michele took to Snapchat on Tuesday, August 9, to document a haircut, and based on her response, you’d think she was chopping off major inches.
“Chris is cutting my hair very short,” Michele, 29, began, referring to celeb stylist Chris Appleton. She added with a bit of a squeak, “And I’m having a little anxiety!”
The next clip shows the Scream Queens star mid-cut, with her length still intact. “What is happening?” Michele nervously asks her friend, who is filming. “A little snip, snip; a little shape, shape!” the pal vaguely responds, sparking even more of a worried reaction.
Finally, Michele’s bud calms her down by saying, “It’s gonna look so good.” Later on, when Michele debuted the brand-new chop to fans via the platform, not much had changed. Her strands were still about rib cage-level, and she had fresher, piecey, face-framing layers.
Though the Glee alum seemingly only got a trim, anyone who’s ever had a bad cut will attest to a butterfly or two anytime someone takes a scissor to their locks. But as Michele later admitted, her nerves might have had more to do with her next stop of the day.
After the snip, the “Cannonball” singer, who released her debut album, Louder, in 2014, made her way to Columbia Records, where she was about to put her sophomore effort on display for execs. “OK, guys. I’m at my record label about to play my whole new record for everyone,” she explained. “Wish me luck!”
Once all was said and done, Michele shared a photo via Instagram that portrayed her as cool, calm and collected, reclining on a sofa at Columbia. “Album listening session today. 🎧,” she wrote.
