Reese Witherspoon attended the 29th American Cinematheque Awards on Friday, Oct. 30, in L.A., at which she was honored, wearing an off-the-shoulder Dolce & Gabbana dress and an effortlessly glamorous hairstyle, made all the more striking thanks to the addition of a very deep part.
“I think a low side part is more dramatic. It creates drama,” Witherspoon’s stylist, Lona Vigi, exclusively tells Us Weekly. “It’s more feminine and makes for a sleeker look.”
The deep part is an easy add to most any hairstyle — and it was just in keeping with the theme the hairstylist and the Oscar-winning actress, 39, discussed beforehand. “Reese and I decided that we wanted the style to be sexy and chic, polished to complete her classy, sophisticated look,” Vigi adds.
To create Witherspoon’s ‘do, Vigi first towel-dried the Wild actress’ just-washed hair, then worked Nexxus New York Salon Care Mousse Plus through for extra volume.
After that, Vigi blow-dried Witherspoon’s blonde tresses straight, section by section. She then created the deep side part.
To finish, she applied a small dollop of Nexxus New York Salon Care Oil Infinite Nourishing Oil to tame flyways and add shine, then spritzed a light coat of hairspray so that the style would hold throughout the night.
