Nicole KidmanKnown as one of Australia's premiere leading ladies, Kidman was actually born in Hawaii in 1967. Following several bit parts in films her big break came in 1990 when she stared alongside future husband Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder. In addition to winning over the hearts of movie-goers, she won over the Hollywood hunk and the two were married on Christmas eve 1990. Known at the time as "Tom Cruise's wife," Kidman was determined not to let her new status overshadow her talents. Roles in Far and Away and Batman Forever earned the actress critical acclaim, but it wasn't until Gus Van Sant's To Die For in 1995 that everyone realized Kidman was a star that could shine on her own. Following the couple's divorce in 2001, Kidman won an Oscar for Best Actress for her role in The Hours. She married Keith Urban in 2006. The couple had their first child together, a daughter Sunday Rose in July 2008. Kidman has two adopted children with ex-husband Cruise. |
