Leave it to Alexander Skarsgard to make sitting naked in below-freezing temps look sizzling hot. The True Blood star -- no stranger to nudity -- stripped down to nothing but a pair of snow boots and sunglasses after reaching the South Pole in Antarctica in mid-December, and thanks to a pal, the moment was captured on film for posterity.

Inge Solheim, Skarsgard's team guide on the Walking With the Wounded Challenge -- the same trek that Prince Harry took last month -- shared a snapshot of the actor via Instagram on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The photo shows the 37-year-old hunk naked and sitting on an outdoor toilet while reading a book.

"What are you reading, Alex? The script for season 7 of #truebloodHBO?" Solheim captioned the image, noting the -30 degree Celsius temperature.

Of course, this isn't the first time Skarsgard has made headlines for baring his bod. During the season six finale of True Blood, in a scene very similar to the South Pole picture, the actor lounged fully nude on a chaise lounge chair in snowy Sweden.

"I think, in general, people are slightly more comfortable with nudity in Sweden," he reasoned during an interview with Conan O'Brien last year. "I also come from a family -- my dad and especially his side of the family are old hippies and bohemians. I think I was 14 the first time I saw my dad wearing pants. He was always naked." (Skarsgard's father is Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard, of Avengers and Thor: The Dark World fame.)

"When he wasn't at the theater, he'd be at home cooking or just chilling with no clothes on," he explained. "That's the way I was raised. It wasn't until me and my brother started bringing girls over -- then we felt a little uncomfortable about it."
