Amber Portwood was released from St. John's Hospital in Anderson, Ind. on Friday following her attempted suicide earlier this week.

Radar Online reports the Teen Mom star, 21, was likely on a 72-hour hold for psychiatric evaluation, which is standard procedure when patients attempt to commit suicide.

Portwoods's on-off boyfriend, Gary Shirley, 24, set up an e-mail account Thursday that allows fans to send well-wishes to the MTV star as she recovers.

"The amount of positive support and energy has been overwhelming," Shirley, who shares custody of daughter Leah, 2, tweeted. "Your support is too special to pass up. All emails will be screened and any positive message will be printed and given to Amber."
