Bret Michaels Rushed Into Emergency Surgery

Bret Michaels never made it to the stage Sunday night in San Antonio, Texas.
Moments before he was due to perform at Sea World, doctors urged the former Poison frontman, 47 -- and current Celebrity Apprentice star -- to go to the hospital, his rep confirms to UsMagazine.com. He'd been suffering all day from severe stomach pains and what he thought was the flu.

But doctors determined Michaels had acute appendicitis, and rushed him into emergency surgery at 1 a.m. Monday morning.
"According to doctors, Michaels, who remains in the hospital, is doing well and beginning the recovery process," his rep tells Us.

Adds the rep, "Michaels, who has been known to perform under extreme conditions that would make most performers cancel, will unfortunately have no choice but to reschedule some of his April tour dates."
They'll be posted on his Web site within the next several days.

I would like to say that I hope that all is well with Mr. Michaels. I work in the medical field and know what he must be feeling. So I hope that all turns out for the best. That he finds a way to keep that diabetes under some control and also i love his music i follow what he does on line and buy the music. Its great. Thank you for doing what you do. Roxanne

Bret Michaels is a good man and father. I recently read an article about he and his gorgeous daughters and their mother and the life they have made for them in Arizona, despite not being "together." He is a person, like the rest of us, on a journey to find his true path in life. Through diabetes and appendicitis, he keeps fighting and keeps his head held high! Get well soon, Brett!!
That is too bad but at least he is on the mend. I've seen him perform many times over the years with Poison and he is a great frontman. I never dreamed he'd become better known as a reality TV star then a singer but at least he is bagging groceries or flipping burgers somewhere.
