Primping the hair before the hoopla! Kate Middleton's mom Carole Middleton stopped by the Richard Ward salon in London on Friday, April 24, and Us Weekly has exclusive details from the royal in-law's visit.

Prince George's grandmother, 60, got a cut and blowout by the salon's head honcho, Richard Ward. An observer in the salon at the time tells Us that Middleton wore skinny jeans, flats, a navy blazer, and striped shirt.

"She was very happy and smiley," the eyewitness tells Us, adding that Middleton seemed "very friendly and close" with Ward. Carole obviously will be facing cameras imminently for her expected visit to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital after her daughter, 33, gives birth. She is currently believed to be staying at Kensington Palace with William and Kate.

Another salon patron tells Us that the Middleton family matriarch frequents the Chelsea-based salon, along with the Duchess' brother James Middleton, 28. Scene-stealing middle child Pippa, 31, however, hasn't been at the swanky styling spot for quite some time.

The stunning future Queen of England, meanwhile, used to come in to the salon to get her hair done, but she now has Ward come to the palace.

"Ever since she had a baby, it's been such a scene when she comes in here," the second visitor tells Us.

Grandma isn't the only one prepping before baby! Carole's royal son-in-law Prince William hit the shops of London on Wednesdsay, April 22, as he — along with the rest of Us — anticipate the arrival of the second royal baby. An eyewitness told Us that the Duke of Cambridge walked into Peter Jones and had a bevy of blue (hint?) items pulled for him.

"Prince William was very nice to all the staff," a source told Us.
