Cheryl Burke: I Was Never "Overweight"

Cheryl Burke knows what it's like to struggle with her weight. Just two years ago, the Dancing With the Stars fourth-place runner-up, 26, caught flak for her curves.

"It's not like I was overweight," the 5-foot-4 dancer tells the new issue of Us Weekly. "But as you get older, your metabolism slows."

To drop the extra five pounds, she cut out red meat the cheese and swapped white carbs for whole-wheat bread and gluten-free pasta. When not rehearsing for DWTS, she attends thrice weekly Jazzercise classes and goes on 4-mile runs up to five days a week.

"I don't weigh myself on a scale. I feel the difference in my clothes and the way they fit," she tells Us. "When I'm on the show, my body changes a lot. I try to maintain it."

Partner Chad Ochocinco (with whom she's been linked) saw a difference, too.

"He lost five pounds without even trying, and he eats McDonald's every day!" Burke says.
