In a now-viral post on Weibo, a Chinese social media app, women are using their iPhones as a benchmark for how skinny their legs are.

“It has become a new generation of standard legs,” a post on the platform says of the disturbing trend, which tests whether your knees, when pressed together, are wider than the length of the iPhone 6. According to Mic, the post now has over 84 million views and 72,000 comments.

Despite its growing popularity, there’s no science to back up this test. “You could go to great lengths and be a fit person, and still have knees that are wider than an iPhone 6,” Dr. Brian Cole, the team physician for the Chicago Bulls, tells Us Weekly.

“The shape and size [of the knee] is predicated on the bones inside,” Cole continues. “There can be fat on the inner side and outer side, but it is in no way correlated with what goes on upstairs, above the knee. There’s no correlation with body fat or BMI.”
