Though most of Demi Lovato's friends have kept quiet since her rep announced the singer was seeking treatment for "emotional and physical issues" on Monday, actress Meaghan Martin says she feels inspired by her Camp Rock 2 costar's decision to get help.

"I'm so proud of Demi. I know she is doing the right thing. I think it's awesome that she did it despite the press she may get," Martin, 18, told HollyScoop. "Just watching my friends go through stuff like that is in itself a lesson."

Though the nature of Lovato's problems haven't been officially disclosed, the 18-year-old Sonny With a Chance star has openly discussed being bullied as a kid.

"I know firsthand what it's like to be called names and be affected by things. They would call me fat, they would call me promiscuous," she revealed on America's Next Top Model in September. "At the time when I was 12 years old, that was like the end of the world."

In addition to being bullied, Reuters reports that Lovato has also "fought through eating disorders and has struggled with cutting."

Adding to Lovato's problems, sources tell UsMagazine.com that the Disney star was "forced into showbiz from a young age, and that puts tremendous pressure on someone."

But now that Lovato is seeking professional help, Martin expects the singer to make a full recovery.

Said Martin: "She's a good girl and she will find her way back."
