Demi Lovato Defends Healthy Weight at Video Music Awards

Demi Lovato feels beautiful just the way she is, thank you very much.
The 19-year-old singer fought back at critics who ridiculed her healthier, curvier figure on Twitter during Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.

"Guess what? I'm healthy and happy, and if you're hating on my weight you obviously aren't," Lovato, who wore a plunging Mandalay mini-dress, wrote.
Twilight actress Ashley Greene, 24, sent Lovato a message of support, reminding the "Skyscraper" singer that she's "beautiful."

"This is why you're my friend," Lovato responded. "Thank you girl."

Bullied for her weight as a kid, Lovato developed an eating disorder that turned into a lifelong struggle with food. "That's kind of what I've been dealing with ever since," the singer admitted on 20/20 earlier this year. "I was compulsively overeating when I was eight years old. So, I guess, for the past 10 years, I've had a really unhealthy relationship with food."

44Demi, dont listen to those people who critcize you. They all need to have their eyes checked and their heads examined. No one should be starving themselves to death to look like a skeleton. You are supposed to eat and be healthy just like you are, and that does not mean you are overweight at all.
Demi looked beautiful and fierce. Don't let anyone make you feel down about your curves. There is nothing fat/heavy/obese about you! Girl if I ever hear about these a**holes making you feel bad about that gorgeous body I will have to come after you with a switch. :D
Demi is and has always been a beautiful young lady. She deserves to be proud of her body. Only the jealous and small minded would say bad things about her.

Now I'm 31 and my metabolism is slow and people say I need to lose 20 lbs. So you can never win.Glad Demi is doing better!

all though i do think Demi looks Fantastic :) some of yall are just so harsh on skinny people.some people have high metabolisms, so it makes it impossible for them to get good curves likes demi. im only 16 and i happen to be skinny. i'm hoping my metabolism changes when im older. i'm not anerexic skinny or anything. but i am thin. but anyhoo i just wanted to say you look fantastic Demi :) miss seeing you in shows.
