What's wrong with being confident? Demi Lovato embodied her lyrics in her latest selfie — an unretouched photo of herself in a bikini.
In the snap from an Allure shoot, Lovato, 23, poses in a retro-inspired black bra top and hot pants. "Posting a #nophotoshop pic because I'm proud to show my body the way it naturally is..(And there was great lighting…)" she wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, January 19.
Sharing non-Photoshopped images is an important message for Lovato. The "Stone Cold" singer also posed unretouched for Vanity Fair in October. "I would have never thought that I would have ever gotten to a place in my life where I would have felt comfortable doing that," the Disney Channel alum told the mag in a video. "It's empowering and it shows other women that you can get to a place where you can overcome the obstacles of body image issues. And you can feel comfortable and confident in yourself."
During that revealing shoot, Lovato admitted that she's now seeing herself in an entirely new light. “I basically went from hating every single inch of my body to working on myself and trying to figure out ways to love myself, love the skin that I’m in,” she explained further. “I learned after working very hard on my spirituality and my soul and my body, I learned that you can get to a place where you can love the skin you’re in.”
