Elizabeth Taylor is seeking treatment for congestive heart failure, her rep confirms. The Oscar-winning actress first revealed her struggle with the condition in November 2004.
The 78-year-old actress -- who shot to fame with roles in Butterfield 8, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Cleopatra -- was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. within the past couple of days.
Taylor's rep says it is unclear how long the actress will remain in the hospital's care, though her family appreciates the support from Taylor's fans.
Prior to her hospitalization, Taylor -- who has been married eight times -- was scheduled to receive an amfAR award on Wednesday for her dedication to AIDS research; Elton John, 63, accepted the honor on Taylor's behalf.
