Update: Halle Berry's Ex Gets Engaged

Halle Berry's ex is heading down the aisle a second time!

Musician Eric Benet, whose three-year marriage to the Oscar winner, 44, ended in 2003 after he cheated, proposed to girlfriend of three years Manuela Testolini in November.

"During a romantic dinner, I decided to finally let Manuela hear 'Never Want to Live Without You," a song off my new album that I had written for her," Benet tells UsMagazine.com. "I sang it to her, then got down on one knee and proposed."

Adds a rep for the singer -- who has 18-year-old daughter India from a previous relationship, "They are engaged and very happy."

Testolini, who was wed to Prince from 2001 to 2006, flashed some sparkly bling on her wedding finger at an event in November (see left).

Benet, 44, and Testolini, who live together in L.A., have tentatively set a summer wedding date.

I'm a fan of Eric's music... can't say I care the least about past indiscretions. Just wanted to say though in response to the lady asking about Halle adopting her... it wasn't true. I read that after they broke up Halle doesn't bother to try to keep in touch let alone talk to India (his daughter from an ex that died while she was a baby).

Ehh..didn't like him after cheating on Halle THEN blaming it on a sex addiction and going to "rehab" for like 3 days--if you're going to cheat "man up" to it!

I really would like to know how his daughter feels about all this. Didn't Halle Berry adopt her? I remember her sayings about how much she loves India, and she wants to be a real mother for her, and so on. Was all this just, well blah, or does she still have a connection with the girl? Or was India just kind of an accesoire that she left behind? Many of those so-called celebrities put such a lot of weight on their poor children, it is a shame.

This may be a better match for him. He'll be the star in this relationship/marriage. A lot of men can't deal with their spouses being more successful than them especially when they're a celebrity too.
