Hilary Duff talks with Ellen DeGeneres during an interview on March 30
Hilary Duff, with her new teal hair, talks about her hair, her body, and her son on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on March 30.

One little man has a lot to say about Hilary Duff's hair!

On the road to promote her new TV show, Younger, which premieres March 31, Duff stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, March 30, where she dished not only on her new blue "mermaid" hair hue, but also on her 3-year-old son, Luca, who, as it turns out, gets a vote on his famous mom's styles.

After cracking that she dyed her hair teal because she was inspired by Ellen DeGeneres' blue eyes, Duff, 27, revealed in earnest, "I’ve never done anything like this! I was just in Cabo with my son and I was staring at the ocean, and I was like I want that on my head. So this happened."

While little Luca (dad is Duff's ex, Mike Comrie) seems to be down with his mom's bold hair color makeover, Duff told the host, 57, that he's less enthused by some of her hairdos. "Luca is very particular about how he likes my hair," the Lizzie McGuire alum said. "There’s absolutely no buns on my head, no ponytails. I’ll have a ponytail and he’s like, 'Um, hair down, Mom. Hair down please.' At least he knows what he likes!"

Duff also talked about the super-sexy bikini shot that she shared via Instagram on March 15. "I had spent all weekend in a bikini, and I was feeling pretty good. I’m just like everyone else. Usually, I'm not feeling so good. I [have a] love-hate relationship with my body," she began.

"[But] I was on a trip with my son, and it's been three years since I had him. I'm just so proud of my body and what it’s done for me," the Cinderella Story actress explained. "It gave me the most beautiful little boy. I feel strong and powerful—and I wanted to inspire other women."
