Hilary Duff is officially a married woman!
The 22-year-old actress wed her hockey player beau, Mike Comrie, in an intimate sunset ceremony at a $29 million estate near the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif. on Saturday, UsMagazine.com has confirmed.
Approximately 100 of the couple's closest family members and friends enjoyed poolside cocktails before the ceremony began at sundown.
Clad in a strapless Vera Wang gown with her hair in a bun, Duff made her way down the aisle -- lined with candles and rose petals -- with her mother, Susan, by her side. Duff's older sister, Haylie, served as maid of honor.

"It was one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever seen," a witness told Us of the pair's 20-minute ceremony. "Absolutely stunning. They thought of every last detail and it was an incredible sight."
Together for more than two years, Duff and Comrie, 29, got engaged during a Hawaiian vacation in February.
After Comrie got down on one knee and presented his girlfriend with a 14-carat, radiant-cut sparkler in Maui, Duff told Us she went full tilt into wedding planning mode.

"[I] came home to a big stack of magazines from my family," said Duff, who had "tear sheets all over my house" in her quest to find the perfect gown. "It's very exciting!"
Though the pair often endure a long-distance relationship, Duff says she and her new husband have a surprisingly "natural" relationship.

"We both have busy jobs, and we're both very focused people, so that helps," the actress tells Us. "Since we are apart so much, it's not like one person is at home waiting for the other."
What makes Comrie her perfect match?
"He's a great guy," Duff gushes. "I've never met anyone who could say a bad word about him. He's generous, caring, funny. We just laugh our heads off, which I need in my life ... He's unique. I wouldn't want to be with someone who wasn't unique."

88Glad for her to have a great life and good partner.
It's not your age that makes a marriage, it's your relationship. If you're not ready to be married at 20 or 40, your relationship will fail. It's about working at it. Age has nothing to do with it. It's maturity.
Congratulations..Mike a Hilary...and to filomena...never say never...first you find a man that has the same values as you...and has morals...marriage is a job...I'v been married for 27 years and I love him more now than when I first got married...RESPECT is very important..you must have respect for each other and next to the Lord he comes second ....never nag or belittle him and you'll get a real man one who loves taking care of his family...and make you feel like a women. It gets hard but, just know at the end of the day he loves you and you love him..and you have each others backs. You have to be willing to work at your marriage...nowadays, once it's gets too hard people want to leave the marriage. That's when you need to fight for your marriage. Believe me I its worth it all....Good Luck.

it's just too bad that in this society we have to look at being young and getting married, as a bad idea. maybe for some it is a terrible idea but for those who are for it and actually go through with it, MORE POWER TO YOU! i will be 19 when i get married in may 2011 and my husband will be 23. we have been together for 4 years and have lived together for 2 years. we have STRONG relationship and age plays no factor in our upcoming marriage. we KNOW we will spend forever with one another. people tell us all the time how mature we are for our age. we own a home and own vehicles, there is nothing we can't overcome together. SO SCREW ALL OF YOU WHO THINK GETTING MARRIED AT A YOUNG AGE IS JUST SETTING ANYONE UP FOR DIVORCE!
To Filomena: You are correct about the marital stats, but I think that is specifically to the United States - the divorce rate here is over 60% now. Part of it is people are getting married at such young ages anymore (ie: before they're 20) or they live together before getting married, and stats show that in both cases, if they happen, the likelihood of a divorce is very high. Also, in a society such as ours where we're exposed to celebrities marrying and divorcing right and left in a short amount of time (example: Pam Anderson was married and divorced twice in one year) makes it seem "okay" to not take marriage seriously, which most people don't anymore. Personally, I want to get married some day; granted my parents divorced when I was young, and my dad has been in multiple marriages, so I'm a little afraid of it, but it's also something I want. I believe that it depends on the two people who are in the relationship; if marriage is something you want together, and you both are willing to take the time to make it work, it just might. At the same time, I totally understand your desire to remain unmarried, as you're also correct about marriage being seen as a solution to a problem (ie: teen pregnancy), which it is not.
Congrats to Hilary and Mike! They're the same ages and dated for the same amount of time as my grandparents did when they got married! I thought that was funny. I hope they're happy and have a great life together. I've never heard anything terrible about Hilary Duff - she's always managed to keep whatever sticky situations she happens to be in out of the media. Rock on Hilary! I'm almost 2 years older than her, and I can't imagine getting married now. It's making me feel like I've missed something! lol oh well. To each his own I guess.
Aww~ That's so sweet! I hope they have a wonderful life together! Hopefully they would have a long and healthy marriage.
Congrats to the couple. Hope it works out for them in the long run. I'm older than Hilary and can't imagine getting married now. To each his own.
Im happy for the couple. Conqrats ! I would like to be married one day, soon at that. Not all marriaqes fail yah know. My mom is in her 2nd marriaqe now & ive neva seen her more happier. I say its all about finding the right one. & You have to have good skills of communication & trust in the relationship. Without it, i mean how is there a relationship?
This couple hasn't even been married 48 hours and people are already saying it won't last. If couples thought they were doomed from the start they wouldn't take the time to get married at all.
Though we cannot ever be sure of the reality of the situation, I do have hope that this union shall last. Hilary Duff seems to be a wise and mature young woman. It is my hope that she shall find happiness in her marriage and that the couple shall remain married "'til death" do they part. May God bless their union.

I come from a long line of Italian and Portuguese descedants. According to their values on marriage and family, everyone in the family INCLUDING THE FAMILY PET has to meet your significant other. Marriage is viewed as a community project and often times especially back in the day, there were arranged marriages. And if you got divorced, you were ostracized from the family. I am amazed at my culture, because although times have changed, the cultural aspects of tradition have remained the same.Especially Italians, they marry for life, they dont beleive in divorce period.
