Jane Fonda, 72, Admits She "Recently Had Plastic Surgery"

Jane Fonda isn't opposed to turning back the hands of time.
The Oscar-winning actress, 72, is opening up for the very first time about her decision to go under the knife.

"I recently had plastic surgery. It was a hard decision to make, and I decided if I'm going to do it, I'm going to tell the truth," Fonda tells Entertainment Tonight. "I'm writing a book about aging, so I can't write that book and not say I've had plastic surgery. And you know, I just decided it was for me -- I don't want to have bags under my eyes that make me look tired, and so forth and so on."

Fonda -- who launched a series of successful fitness videos in the '80s -- says she's always paid special attention to her appearance.
"I have, in my life, been obsessive about exercise, about most everything. But one of the good things that happens when you get older is everything comes into perspective," she says. "I have a new hip, I have a new knee, and I'm going to soon be be bionic. If I don't stay active my body stops functioning."

The actress -- who next stars in You Again opposite Kristen Bell and Jamie Lee Curtis on Sept. 24 -- is set to release two new workout DVDs this November.

18I want to like Jane Fonda, but she has just offended too many people, including her father, Henry Fonda, U.S. troops, and Ted Turner.
Whoever said Carol Burnett is right on. On a personal level she is heinous, but I do love her acting. She looked really good in "Georgia Rule". She should have kept that look. To not have any silver/grey in your hair at 72 is simply not plausible, she should have left a few streaks of it at least...
Lets start with the positive. She's a cool lady & a great actress. Ok, lets move along, um. Is this the b'fore pic or after? Hope it's the b'fore. She is in her 70's, so we shouldn't be too hard on her. Think a little botox or juvederm will help erase the crows feet & wrinkles. Other than that, she's good 2 go.
I love Jane Fonda for many reasons, but mainly because she's so authentic and down to earth honest. Kudos to her for being honest about her plastic surgery. She didn't have to do that. Jane, you're a role model for me. You go, girl!
Absolutely! Jane sure made the choice to speak on what others' chose to do with their lives. And here is me making the choice to say, "Hey Jane, you sure look frightening."
Life is about Choices and it is none of our business what choices others decide to make in their lives.
Growing old is tough..especially in HollyWEIRD but Jane you're 72..the wrinkles are going to be back before you blink your eyes
