Jessica Simpson revealed more curves in a sequined mini as younger sister Ashlee made her Broadway debut Monday night in Chicago (the SVEDKA-sponsored after-party was at INC Lounge at the Time Hotel).
Simpson, 29, endured a rough 2009: She was blasted for her weight, lost her beloved dog Daisy to a coyote and was dumped the day before her 29th birthday by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
Still, her father Joe told Usmagazine.com he admires how strong his daughter was through it all.
"I'm proud because my children look at ups and downs and rise up above it all and remain strong," he said. "They are who they are, and that couldn't make me prouder as a dad to see them be strong."
Right now, Jessica "is in her element," Joe told Us. "We finished a great TV show [VH1's Price of Beauty] that you'll be seeing in March, and I think you'll love it."
Though Jessica has been unlucky in love ever since splitting from husband Nick Lachey, Joe has a message to all those eligible bachelors out there.
"You could never ask for a more loving woman and honest woman," he told Us. "That's all you got."
