Uh oh -- is Mischa Barton the next Jessica Simpson after wearing a pair of unflattering jeans?

PHOTOS: Jessica's mom jeans

Barton, 24, showed off her curves in super-tight, pale yellow denim, bright red shoes and a midriff-baring top while on a Starbucks run Sunday afternoon.

Pointed out Allieiswired.com, "Mischa Barton was out and about, dressed like this. Showing off her flabby belly... Mischa should probably rethink that Starbucks, eh?

TMZ.com
noted that the Barton "pour[ed]  herself into stretchy banana yellow high-waisted pant bottoms, a belly baring floral top and a pair of Wizard of Oz red pumps in L.A. this weekend. Not matching is the new black."

GossipCenter.com called the "belly-baring top...unflattering," and PrimaryBeats captioned a photo, "OMG What happened to her? Check out poor Mischa Barton being a mess and showing her extra body weight while going out to get some coffee at Starbucks. [Her short-lived CW drama] The Beautiful Life should've never got canceled!"

Last Thursday, Radaronline.com highlighted her "softer, more voluptuous look" as she ran errands in Beverly Hills.

Barton has faced criticism for her weight ups and downs throughout her career.

"One minute, I'm too fat, the next I'm too skinny," Barton told Celebuzz in a statement in February 2009 -- after she was slammed for "wasting away" by a tabloid.

She credited that slim down to "watching what I eat... I still love my Pilates and yoga and I have cut back on fatty foods a bit... I'm happier and healthier than ever!"

By July 2009, she was blaming her newly plumped up face to wisdom tooth surgery. (She also blamed the surgery for her being hospitalized under a 5150 psychiatric hold that same month.)

when i was in model school, we were instructed to dress well all of the time... what is wrong with her? Is she trying to get out of the industry? Cannes did ask if she was pregnant.

She used to be a nice size when she was at her skinniest she looked so nice. Now shes let things slip... Boy shes let herself down.

Some of the comments on here are really cruel and shocking which tells me there is no short supply of female dingalings out there. If Mischa was named Beyonce, noone would utter a word. What idiot also said the jeans were unflattering? What so she'd look better in a pair of jeans showing more of her? They'd show her no mercy then. Young females criticizing her, get a brain, and find something intelligent to say, because Mischa could steal your man in a heartbeat, curves and all..

ugh. this article makes me so mad. no women should ever be critized for what she looks like! she is not fat she is NORMAL. where all just comparing her to the stick figures young girls her to look up to today. yes, i admit, should shouldn't have wore those. but at least she has the guts to wear somthing like that. all those people who sit behind computers making fun of her and people like her just make me sick. she is trying to live her life and work (acting) but because she's in the public eye people tell themselves thats its okay beacuase they need to show kids it okay to have faluts. but all they are doing is creating the b****** we have in schools today.

body wise she looks healthy but that outfit is really gross

  • April 24, 2010 - 3:25pm Mari

Um, that's a healthy BMI that she's sporting right there, and I'm not going to knock any woman for flaunting it without shame. (And for the snotty "skip the Starbucks" comment? What she's carrying is basically iced coffee and milk, and the first thing to go anytime that anyone slides into an eating disorder is the dairy. But, hey, she's proving that she lives off more than coffee and cigarettes, and that's apparently sin in and of itself.)

  • April 24, 2010 - 3:23pm Mari

That? Is a completely healthy BMI that she's sporting right there, and given how frighteningly thin that she's been before, don't knock her for it. (And, and for the snotty "skip the Starbucks" comment? What she's carrying is basically iced coffee and milk, and the first thing to go any time that someone slides into an eating disorder is the dairy. More power to her if she's embracing her health.)

You brainless coke-wh..., thinking someone weighing over 50kgs is fat (and i dont know how much it is in pounds, you just do the conversion you useless hollywood scumtrash) Instead of spending all your money up your nose you should use it to get some education, stop calling people fat or skinny you bunch of losers, mischa's not fat she's just wearing ugly clothes, but she has a healthy body. And please stop telling people to head to the gym whenever one's not a size zero, you make me wanna puke, you writers of US magazine are such a bunch of cocaine addicts losers

too fat or too skinny, she had no business being in the monstrosity of an outfit...nobody should be.

  • April 16, 2010 - 2:56pm Carrie

UNBELEIVABLE! Beautiful actresses get critisized for being too thin or too "fat" there is no flabby beely there AT ALL! You people are CRAZY! Leave these people alone...they are human and have feelings, do unto others as you would have them do unto YOU!

  • April 13, 2010 - 11:07am Joe

First of all she is not fat!!!!!! Where do people get off saying that! No wonder little girls feel presure to be a negative size!

  • April 12, 2010 - 7:27pm skippy

It's saddening and pathetic that society considers a size eight to be "fat." We're so accustomed to seeing waif-thin models and celebrities that anything else looks abnormal. If you saw her walking down the road, you would NOT think she was fat. (Those pants aren't flattering but I'm talking about in an ordinary pair of jeans.)

  • April 11, 2010 - 8:15pm Connie

If Mischa Barton is considered fat in that photo, I would have no problem looking like her. She is far from fat. Why is it a man can be disgusting, with a huge gut that hangs over his belt and thats okay. they still think they are entitled to a 'skinny woman" People get a grip!!!!!

  • April 09, 2010 - 6:04pm j. meadows

what the ---- is wrong with mischa is she okay?

  • April 08, 2010 - 8:37pm Coco

Wrong underwear, wrong size, wrong pant style for a pear shape, wrong to see her cellulite, just wrong!

  • April 08, 2010 - 3:42pm rachel in mn

So this article definitely has the wrong title, she shouldn't be 'slammed for showing flabby belly' (which she only has cuz her pants are too tight) but it should be on a 'what not to wear' list! my question for all people who dress with their skin showing (hanging or not) - do you not look in the mirror before you go out? if i put on those pants and saw my ass like that I would have tossed those jeans ASAP (actually I wouldn't have bought them in the first place). she clearly needs someone to give her the once over before she leaves the house! what a look!!!

  • April 07, 2010 - 3:09pm MOLLY

The funny thing is, she's probably at her healthies in this pic. Could be that she gained weight after cutting out certian 'destructive' habits. But of course in our culture, if you're not (literally) a size2, you're flabby. The outfit was silly, obviously, because she was dressing like a stick figure instead of her current size, probably a 4 or a 6.But that doesn't mean she needs to go starve herself. just wear better clothes Mischa, and keep yourself healthy.

I think that is whats wrong with people's images today. Reading garbage like this and thinking that is fat. I mean seriously! She is so not and I hope she tells these people off. On top of that I would love to SEE the people writing these articles and how "perfect" they must look when passing this judgement. No wonder there are so many people in hollywood and all over this country that have eating disorders. Instead of having all these women on covers of magazines with their flat airbrushed stomachs I would like to see an average person with flaws like everyone has. It just makes me sick to see stuff like this!
