Rejected!
Pamela Anderson flew to Montreal to unveil her newest vegetarian campaign for PETA Thursday, but Canadian officials denied a permit for the event at the last minute, claiming her nearly-nude ad is sexist.

Anderson, 43, poses in a bikini with her body marked off in "rump," "ribs" and "breast." The ad's logo reads, "All Animals Have the Same Parts."
"In a city that is known for its exotic dancing and for being progressive and edgy, how sad that a woman would be banned from using her own body in a political protest over the suffering of cows and chickens," Anderson said in a statement released to UsMagazine.com. "In some parts of the world, women are forced to cover their whole bodies with burqas -- is that next? I didn't think that Canada would be so puritanical."
A Montreal official explains the reason behind turning down the permit: "It is not so much controversial, as it goes against all principles public organisations are fighting for in the everlasting battle of equality between men and women."
Snipes PETA senior vice president Dan Mathews: "I think that city officials are confusing 'sexy' with 'sexist.'"
The ad launch party will be held in a restaurant instead of a public venue now. See the top 10 beach bodies.
This isn't Anderson's first PETA ad that has raised ire; in September 2009, the CNN Airport Network refused to air a video of her stripping to raise awareness for the animal-rights group.

Tell Us What You Think
56I'm confused in every PETA women/men are supposed to be nude and she's not even nude her. So they clearly don't know what PETA is.
You're missing the point. Women's bodies are reduced down to their parts to be objectified and women are treated like commodities. This add reinforces the sexist notion that women are things. If they had used a naked man in the add, it would have been much more effective.
Lorraine, I agree with the others. You have every right to your opinion, it's just kind of the wrong time to bring it up. It's like saying, in the middle of a church sermon, "S'cuse me, Rev, can we talk about something else for a sec?"
It was Andersons choice to use her body this way (and good for her!) so there is no 'sexist' here. She's using what she has to make a point, and I agree and support it 100%! If Canada is too uptight to allow her to express herself like this, it's their call. A bad one, but, nonetheless, it's still their choice.
Oh & quit saying Canada sucks. I am sure SOME Americans have enough class not to diss another country.
I agree, let's stay on topic here. Lorainne everyone cares about people- that is easy but Pamela Anderson cares for animals. Good for her! Why trash someone who is doing some good in the world? Chickens & cows count too. WHy do we need to only be nice to humans, why not animals too? I agree with Celena.
CANADA SUCKS !
Lorraine- Just drop the abortion topic and worry about the animals and this poster or at least comment on another article and tell someone who cares. Its okay to care for other species on this earth instead of JUST selfish humans.
Why are you guys so off topic? like really?
@Lorraine, even if a celeb were to stand up against abortion, can you imagine the uproar it would create? i'm talking death threats here because how can one person (you, me or anyone) have the right to tell another person what to do with a decision that will affect the rest of that person's life? imagine a teenage girl who gets pregnant, her entire future is in jeopardy when she get pregnant. in my country, before abortion became legal, pregnant girls died by going to some backyard, unqualified doctor to get an illegal abortion. i'm sorry but in that case we are talking about a living human's life becoming in danger because of an unborn baby. personally i, like you, am against abortion but i don't feel it's my place to give my two sense to a desperate, terrified and pregnant young woman by telling her what to do with her life
It's not true. All that happened was that Montreal city hall refused to participate in, or endorse, the launch of the campaign. No Canadian ban exists - it's being blown way out of proportion.
Celina - You say that the main focus of the poster is animals, so leave it at that. Well, unfortunately that is the main focus. I however, am using this opportunity to stand up for human life not "chickens and cows". I wish Pamela would forget about the "chickens and cows" for awhile and put the issue of abortion to the forefront. I often see celebrity activists (Doris Day, Pam Anderson) advocating for animal rights and believe me, I love animals. But, in all that is right, I wish that I would see JUST ONE CELEBRITY who would stand up for human life. Is there such a person? Why is there no one. Can you name any celebrity who would advocate for the unborn. I can't and this tell us that society has lost its focus. I am so sich of hearing that it is a woman's choice. Well what about the unborn females. The gift of life is precious and there is a soul involved here. Of course, that is another issue. You don't say the word God either in today's society. Well, I do. I love the Lord and I respect human life. I also believe that we should not be cruel to animals. But, as far as "chickens and cows" are concerned, what is this all about. I am not a vegetarian and love my KFC.
How honorable is it for someone to use her body like a tool to support a cause or advertise a product? People will look at all these ads not for the vegetarian cause but to have a look at her body. She and other ladies are just used to give pleasure to the men. When will they realize realize this is NOT honoring the woman, rather degrading her. Modestly dressed women do not invite men to lust upon them and therefor in no way, is that a degradation and limitation to woman's freedom.
pam you look HOT!!! Love you!
Lorraine- People Choose to have abortions. It maybe wrong but thats their choice. She is a beautiful girl who stands up for something that is right. Do you think that animals choose to be killed? I know babies dont either and we should stand up for them too but thats not what this discussion is about. Cant we just stand up for animals and people. The main focus of this poster is animals..so just leave it as that. If you love animals & people then why cant you stand up for them both. Remember the saying , if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all
When did this become a plot against Canada, geesh. Either side of the debate doesn't call for name calling. By the way, Pam is hot and sticks up for animals, awesome!
Sorry Kimberly but I think that comment is a fail. She's still hope and we shouls all hope to look half as good in our 40s.
How come it is ok for a beautiful woman to advertise herself in a magazine ad for money but when Pam wants to do it for a just cause (animals!) she is denied????? Good for her to use her beautiful body in the hopes of reaching a few people and drawing the attention to those poor animals sent to slaughter.
we should be more worried that shes 43 years old and still posing and dressing the way she did 20 years ago. its digusting. without all of the photo shop, i bet she looks really sexy.... not
I'm a feminist and a vegetarian. I do not fine a single problem or concern with this ad. I think it sends a very good message and hopefully will catch the attention of those who normally ignore ads. While I appreciate PETA's message, I have been disappointed in their shock-value and radicle ads they normally use. This one is tame. This one is more respectful but actually gives a very clear message. I like this one. I also appreciate that people like Pam Anderson are passionate about animal rights and will put themselves out there for public scrutiny for this excellent cause. Canada really should re-think their stance on this. Please, anyone who is not a vegetarian and is reading this, give that lifestyle a try, even if it is just for a couple weeks. You will feel and look better physically and feel better knowing you are saving animals' lives in the process.
