"I'm just comfortable and confident in my body. I could care less that the world is seeing me in a bathing suit right now," Blonsky told UsMagazine.com at the Toy Story 3 premiere in Hollywood last week. "I think they finally know what I look like in a bathing suit, if they were wondering."
Blonsky joins Hayley Hasselhoff in the new series about a group of teens struggling to gain acceptance and shed pounds while at fat camp.

"I play a character called Willhelmina. She's awesome, she's totally against the grain," Blonsky tells Us. "She doesn't want to lose weight. She thinks fitness camp is stupid and that's why I love her, because she doesn't want to do anything that the camp wants her to do."
And like her character, the actress admits that she's proud of her full-figured shape.

"I feel awesome," Blonsky tells Us. "I think there's nothing better than just showing by confidence and showing that I love my body. Why not share it with L.A., New York, everywhere?"

104She says she is comfortable with herself now....give it time and she will let stardom get to her and she will be on a commercial for weight watchers or jenny craig. Queen Latifah use to say she was comfortable with herself too and look at what she did.
I don't think its fair for some to say that if she was comfortable than she wouldn't let herself look that way...I think she is trying to show that even though she if comfortable in her skin, doesn't mean that everyone else is happy with themselves,or that the world is accepting of overweight people (which is why I think a lot of her movies have something to do with things like being overweight or being bullied for laughed at because of the way the look)...She is a Bold Confident and Beautiful Person who is willing to take a stand for something she believes in, which is not something you can say for a lot of other Celebrities.
Im sorry but if she loved her body she would not let it go like that. She is totally unhealthy, I am not saying she has to be thin but she is morbidly obese looking. Put down the fork girl!
I think that it is awesome that nikki blonsky is happy with the size that she is. It is stupid how the only thing people worry about is how someone looks.. you could be the biggest ass that anyone has ever met but as long as your a size 2 it doesnt matter how you act. Everyone needs to get over the idea that the only thing that matters is the way someone looks.
I don't think you should be embarrassed if a bit thicker is your HEALTHY weight, but lets face it, overweight is not a sign of good health for the vast majority of people. Being healthy is just as important as being self-assured businesstravelagent.info We should never promote the idea that being accepting of yourself means that you SHOULDN'T lose weight, because in nearly every case, being skinnier would mean being healthier.
I kind of feel sorry for this girl. She is NOT overweight, she is obese. That is unhealthy any way you look at it. And as women get older, they put on more weight, so she is only going to get heavier.
I'm so tired of this debate & the mentality that states if you're big that means you sit around all day eating poorly & never moving.A friend of mine is over 200lbs & she bikes almost every weekend, sometimes up to 15 miles one way, she walks atleast 2 miles 5 days a week, & monitors her calorie, fat & protein intake on a daily basis (i swear on my life that's what she does). She has one cheat day. She's just not meant to be tiny, but could run circles around the skinny so called fit girls. Big does not = unhealthy all the time. That is a fact.
Her saying that she is confident in her overweight body kind of reminds me of when Jennifer Hudson said she was proud of her plus size figure but now that she has lost weight she is way more confident and healthy. Once Nikki loses some weight she will look back and go what was I thinking when I said these words.
@iwant to know- Where have you been lately? In a cave? Under a rock? There was a raging debate in the media about Gaborey's size. The issue on this thread is Nikki Blonsky. Who are you, her father?
It's great that she is confident and happy and that her posing in a swimsuit helps other girls with bigger bodies feel good =) However, none of that (as good as it is) doesn't change the fact that being overweight is unhealthy! so hopefully this picture doesn't give people an excuse not to workout, but instead gives them motivation and confidence while doing so =)
Not afraid to show a little skin would be her "little" finger...geesh
Good grief people, she doesn't look confident in her picture because it is a promo shot for her new show..
It's "I COULDN'T care less" you numbskull. "I could care less" signifies that this has some importance greater than other issues.
Finally, an actress that overweight children can identify with, and who won't make them feel bad about themselves. I love her for that!
Oh, yeah...she really looks confident in this photo, can't you tell?
why there are sooo many comments blasting this chick and then there are two negative comments on the ginormous black chick from Precious' pic right next to this one. Double standard! The white chick has to be a size zero and the black chick gets a free pass and can be 500 lbs.
whitemwiiiitasiantranny - seriously? um, YOU got issues, dude
@ stephanie...... tell the girls scouts to stop selling cookies and start selling fruit and vegetables.
when i said...."I've the kind of real men chubby women get."... i left out the word "seen". I really should learn to proofread my rants.
@"June 29, 2010 - 1:39pm mb Says: gosh, seems a lot of people on this board are insecure with themselves. The show is not promoting obesity. it is promoting being accepting of yourself and not conforming to society. anyone of us, fat, skinny, chunky, slightly overweight, whatever, can have health issues. young women have been warped by the media and the gay man fashion industry and we no longer know what "normal" woman's body looks like. Between all the botox, plastic boobs, nose jobs and so on an so forth, we don't look human anymore. Why does everyone (mostly women) get so defensive when a chunky full figured woman gets the spotlight or gets promoted in hollywood or fashion? Maybe they are jealous because real men prefer women with flesh and not unatural emaciated sticks." ....................This is NOTTTTT what "normal" women (people) look like. The only people who think "chubby" is "normal" are americans who have never traveled the world. My parents brought me around the world growing up (mostly asia and europe and africa) due to my dad's international business ventures. When you travel the world, you realize .... most world women are thin or thinnish or just normal weight. Us americans are a world fat anomaly known to the world as "those fat americans". We are a fat farm country with a government confirmed obesity crisis. Now that obamacare is a reality.... us business owners are going to be paying taxes thru the roof to treat the american glutty icecream breathing obese instead of the pot holes on the roads screwing up my precious undercarriage. As for young chicks seeing thin women in the media: OH BOOOO HOOO pooor little white girl.... .always so traumatized by thin women (I'm done with pandering to that whiny crybaby "waaa a thin woman"). What about my girlfriend. All she sees in the media.. are white girls. Young boys see nothing but fat free muscled hunks in every aftershave commercial. Every male model is a hunk with well cut abs. But, Do you see males flipping out and starving themselves beyond reason? NOOOOO! Instead of saying "i'm a strong independent woman"... maybe females should actually BEEEEEEE strong and independent (saying and being are two different things). Part of being "STRONG" is being able to handle the image of a thin model or celebrity without it affecting your esteem adversely. As for "real men" like women with "flesh".... please do NOT speak for "real men". I've the kind of "real men" chubby women get. It aint the business owning tycoons (the REAL real men). I date asian females and they tend to be thinner (they have the lowest rate of obesity in the usa and studies show their their lower than normal BMI rate doesnt affect their health adversely. quite the contrary. They outlive every other race of woman in USA). Us Men with thin gymnastics athlete asian lovers are real men too. Fat chunky women.. are only REALLY popular in the ghetto. Have fun moving there, chubs. Take a bullet proof vest (it might have to be custom tailored).
