One day after undergoing emergency throat surgery, R&B singer R. Kelly, 44, was discharged from Northwestern Memorial Chicago hospital late Wednesday night.
"He left the hospital last night and is recuperating at home in Chicago," his publicist told E! News Thursday. "Still no word on when he'll be able to resume performing."
On Wednesday, the "World's Greatest" singer's publicist said that doctors had to drain an abcess on one of Kelly's tonsils Tuesday. At the time, Kelly's publicist said he would be "laid up indefinitely" in the hospital.
The recovering singer reached out to his fans via Twitter Wednesday night, where he thanked "everybody for their love, concern and support. I will be back!"
