Breaking News: Fantasia Hospitalized After Overdosing on Aspirin, Sleep Aid

Fantasia Barrino was admitted to a Charlotte, NC hospital following an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid on Monday night, her manager Brian Dickens confirmed to UsMagazine.com Tuesday in a statement.
"Her injuries are not life threatening," Dickens says of the singer, 26. "She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time," he adds, noting that Barrino is now "stable. She will be released from the hospital soon."

The American Idol season three champ's hospitalization came hours after her rep addressed rumors of a sex tape starring Barrino and a married man, Antwaun Cook -- which allegedly caused Antwaun's wife, Paula, to file for divorce.

"Fantasia believed Mr. Cook when he told her he was not happy in his marriage and his heart was not in it," Dickens explained Tuesday of the on-and-off, eleven month relationship. "She knows some of the allegations .... are totally false." the statement continues. "There are others she strongly doubts. There is plenty she does not know."

"Fantasia is heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused," he adds. "Yesterday, she was totally overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention."
"Fantasia is a fighter and a survivor," Dickens adds. "This is not the hardest thing Fantasia has endured. Fantasia will be stronger, smarter, and better for it."

A married man will use any excuse. Usually he's 'not happy in his marriage'. Well good, divorce then. I went through the married man situation... they never leave. And if they do? You're the exception to the rule. It's an awful game to play, it hurts so many people involved. Hopefully she can move on from this, and learn from mistakes. I did.
