Rumer Willis has sister Scout Willis' back, topless or not. Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's oldest daughter, 25, told Access Hollywood on Tuesday, June 17, that she supports her younger sibling's protest of Instagram's nudity policy.

Scout, 22, made waves recently when she strolled topless through the streets of New York City as part of a "#FreeTheNipple" demonstration. "Legal in NYC but not on @instagram," she tweeted alongside one photo of herself walking bare-chested through Manhattan.

Rumer admitted to Access Hollywood that she's not quite as gutsy as her Brown University grad sister—but she understands and respects what Scout is trying to do. "She's very bold…I give her mad props for that," the Sorority Row actress said. "I don't know if I'd be brave enough to do it."

The star went on to explain Scout's motivation for the protest, which was sparked by Instagram's policy of deleting photos that show a woman's exposed nipple. "[It's] a human rights issue and just having real gender equality," Rumer told Access Hollywood. "We still live in a world where gay marriage was just legalized recently. So as progressive as we are and we hope to be, I hope that in the next 10 years that we can continue to grow to a place where it's not even a question."

Scout, for her part, noted in a column for xoJane in June that men's bare chests were once considered provocative, too, but are now "accepted as the norm." She added that she wasn't trying to argue for "mandatory toplessness" but for "a woman's right to choose how she represents her body…[without] fear of how people will react to her or how society will judge her."

Scout certainly isn't alone in her protest—as she notes in her xoJane column, the "Free the Nipple" campaign has been going on for several years—but for the moment, at least, she won't be joined by Rumer. Asked whether she had plans to get involved, Rumer quipped, "Not as of yet, but you never know."
