Exclusive: Spencer Pratt: Why Heidi Filed for Divorce

Looks like it's official.
Heidi Montag filed for divorce from Spencer Pratt Friday in Santa Monica, Calif. Superior Court.
"Well, some say if you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen. Heidi couldn't handle King Spencer's fame so she got out of the marriage," Pratt, 26, tells UsMagazine.com.

Montag, 23, cites irreconcilable differences in her petition. She filed for legal separation from Pratt in June.

Montag recently dropped out of a planned reality show with her former BFF Jen Bunney. "She has a lot to deal with right now," blogged Bunney -- who left The Hills in the second season after feuding with Lauren Conrad over Brody Jenner.
Indeed, a rep for Montag told Us shortly after the split news broke: "Heidi is going through a difficult time."

A source close to the couple says that Montag initiated the breakup when she moved out of their home. "Heidi loves Spencer but she had lost contact with her friends and family," the insider explained.
So will they reconcile?
"This breakup is the latest part of Spencer's master plan," an insider recently told Us Weekly, explaining that the couple is in panic mode now that their MTV reality show has wrapped up. Another source adds that duo is "laughing over" the breakup headlines "and having a blast."

Spencer has gone off the deep end, period. He is probably living in a shack in the woods and joining a militia. Now Heidi should take out those ridiculous implants and move on with her life. I was watching old Hills episodes and Heidi looked so beautiful and normal back then.

I dont understand ppl in the news anymore, you never can tell who is in love anymore and who is, celbs in the news are either only doing it for money our to get thier 15 mins of fame. I wish humanity, love and faith would make a comeback.
I don't think anyone really cares if this is real or some ploy for a few more minutes of being what they call famous. Even as much as they are in the tabloids, and I knew their names before today, I really had no clue what either one of them did in terms of work/ careers, etc. LOL Not much it appears. I saw a picture of her "before" photo in some mag and she really needed the plastic surgery she did to her face but hen there are those funny looking things on her chest that resemble balloons not full breasts.

She needs not to explain why she's divorcing him, it's obvious he's a dork! Now that she is losing that boob, hopefully she can lose the other 2 & re-create a healthy image 4 herself.

Who really cares? I knew that Heidi would divorce him and she did. but now she won't get her life back together since it was all "KING" Spencer's fault for making her distancing herself from everyone that was in her life. He brainwashed her and she believed his lies.

i've been waiting for that lol..she needs her life back cuz spencer stole it and hopefully she can reconcile with her family maybe move back to her hometown to rethink where her life is gonna take her..she will be fine i dont like her much but divorces are never easy..

WAY too much Bachelor/Bachlorette stories in your mag. Get back to being my favorite celeb mag instead of the P.R. campaign for that show. Mel Gibson's story is more worthy of a front page than, "Who will Ali choose?"
They got married for the fame (which, although negative besides the Playboy spread, they still got some) in my opinion and are a disgrace to the sacrament of marrage. People are still fighting to have equal rights to get married in most states and these pigs were entitled to a marrage license??? F*$kin joke!!

Two things. 1) Anyone who meets Spencer for five minutes already knows "why Heidi filed for divorce." 2) "The Hills" is now official over. Done with. No more shows. Therefore there is NO REASON TO KEEP COVERING THESE PEOPLE (as if there ever was).
