What are best friends for? America Ferrera is turning to her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costars as she prepares for the arrival of her first child. The actress told Us Weekly exclusively on Tuesday, April 2, how Amber Tamblyn, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel have helped her.

“Of course, my Sisterhood gang,” Ferrera responded when asked if she’d reached out to any former costars for parenting advice. “They’re a go-to for me. Just one text message away, and I ask them a million questions all the time.”

The Superstore star, 33, told Us at The North Face’s Move Mountains launch that she’s asked her trio of onscreen and offscreen buddies, who are all moms, about a myriad of topics: “Everything from trying to wrap my mind around the actual birth itself and talking about what their experiences were and what to prepare for. I think one of the things, for every woman I’ve spoken to, is once you’ve been through it — it’s like, let go of your expectations because it’s going to be what it’s going to be. I’m lucky that I have so many amazing women around me who have had children and are in very similar positions as me — are working and have to get back to work. Having their support has been everything.”

Tamblyn told Us on March 26 that the foursome get together for playdates. “We’ll have to get the tiniest pants you’ve ever seen in your whole life,” the actress said of their kids sharing a pair of magical jeans as their characters do in the film.

Ferrera has partnered with The North Face and Girl Scouts of the USA for the brand’s multi-year Move Mountains initiative, which seeks to celebrate and share the stories of adventurous and courageous female explorers.
