Now that's a dad in Paradise! Bachelorette alum Kiptyn Locke opened up to Us Weekly exclusively about first-time fatherhood after welcoming his newborn son, Koltyn, with his girlfriend Samm Murphy last month.

"I've always looked forward to the opportunity to raise little ones," the businessman told Us. "It's in my hard wiring, being a dad is something I've always felt like I was meant to do. I've been very lucky to have an amazing family and role models in my life. Now it's my turn to pay that forward."

Locke, 37, was the runner-up on Jillian Harris' Season 5 in 2009. He went on to star on Bachelor Pad, where he met fellow Bachelor Nation member Tenley Molzahn in 2010. They dated off and on until May 2014. While both have moved on since their split, Molzahn admitted on the Sunday, Aug. 2, premiere of Bachelor in Paradise that her split from Locke was devastating.

This past March, Locke broke the news to Us that he was expecting his first child with Murphy, whom he met in 2014 at a charity event in L.A. "I've always looked forward to being a dad. It's something I've been so excited about," Locke said at the time. "Samm is an amazing woman — she's an athletic, active, intelligent woman running her own business. She'll be an amazing mom."

The proud first-time father is beyond ecstatic with his little one, too. "It's incredible the way my son already responds to my voice, how he smiles, and his familiar mannerisms. I look down at him and see so much of myself as well as his mom," Locke told Us of baby Koltyn, 2 weeks. "I can't wait to see what his interests are and what he's passionate about as he grows up and becomes his own man. Everyday I find myself just looking at him and smiling, especially when he flashes these huge smiles. He is the most amazing gift of my life and the greatest opportunity I've ever known."

Locke is already dreaming of his son's future. "I can't wait to stand by and encourage my little buddy through the many adventures ahead," the former reality star told Us. "He's healthy and happy and that is what was most important to me. He's also pretty long / tall and he smiles like me, which is funny and oddly a lot cuter without any teeth."
