Eighteen days after giving birth to daughter Cricket, Busy Philipps gave photographers the first glimpse of her post-baby body during a lunch outing with her family at Little Dom's in Los Feliz, Calif., on Saturday, July 20. Wearing a black tee and a printed wrap skirt, the Cougar Town actress was joined by her screenwriter husband, Marc Silverstein, her 4-year-old daughter, Birdie, and little Cricket, who was born July 2.
Philipps is determined to shed her pregnancy pounds, as evidenced by a July 23 tweet. "Going to my first post-baby spin class," she wrote. "Thirty percent chance I will sit on the bike, not pedaling and cry."
Unlike some Hollywood moms, the actress won't credit her weight loss to breast-feeding. "I love that the whole weird misconception, 'I just lost it all breastfeeding,'" she said during the May 25 episode of The Conversation With Amanda Cadenet. "It's like, 'No, you didn't!'"
She added, "This total obsession with pregnant celebrities — how much weight they gain, what they're eating, what they look like, how they're going to lose it — I just feel like, culturally, we're not being very kind."
After welcoming her second daughter earlier this month, Philipps defended daughters' unique names via Twitter. "It's weird people think my kids will be in therapy because of their names," she wrote July 10. "Guys, my kids will be therapy for lots of reasons, I'm sure."
