Feeling friendly! Exes Christina Anstead and Tarek El Moussa are “happier than ever” coparenting their two kids.
“They’ve gotten to a great, peaceful and friendly place in terms of coparenting and working together,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly of the former couple, who share daughter Taylor, 9, and son Brayden, 5.
The exes called it quits in 2016. Following their split, the Flipping 101 With Tarek El Moussa star, 39, moved on with Heather Rae Young, while his ex-wife, 37, married Ant Anstead and welcomed a son named Hudson, now 12 months old.
While El Moussa and Anstead are “not hanging out on Sundays having barbecues,” their dynamic is “good,” he exclusively told Us earlier this week.
“The kids are great and life is good,” the California native explained. “We’re cordial. We film together. … We’re good.”
When asked whether coparenting has been tougher amid the coronavirus pandemic, El Moussa called it “a walk in the park” compared to their “very public divorce.” He told Us, “It doesn’t matter how bad it is. It’s better than it was.”
El Moussa and the Christina on the Coast star “worked really hard” to get to this point, El Moussa said. “Once you acknowledge that, it’s not fair and you can’t control it, I feel like it helps you start to move on.”
In April, Christina exclusively told Us that she and her ex-husband are handling everything “the same as before” amid the COVID-19 spread.
“We’re just making sure that we’re on the same page,” the Flip Your Life author explained at the time. “I went over there and showed them how we were doing homeschool because I had them the first few days. We just, like, make sure we’re helpful with each other. We all just are in it for the kids and whatever’s best for them, so that’s just how we make it work.”
Homeschooling Taylor and Brayden, however, has been “really hard,” Christina added. “I’m not going to say, ‘Oh, it’s wonderful,’” she told Us. “Like, I never wanted to be a homeschool teacher.”
