Jason Biggs might be known for his flair for comedy, but his wife, actress Jenny Mollen, has just as much of a sense of humor, as evidenced by her recent baby shower. The couple married in April 2008 and announced Mollen's first pregnancy in July 2013. The mother-to-be celebrated with close friends and family on Oct. 27 at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. and had some specific requests. Here the future mother shares exclusively with Us Weekly what her baby shower was like.
When my mother and sister told me they wanted to throw me a baby shower I was skeptical. I hate games, large groups, and being gifted shoes that I can't fit into.
On the flip side, the shower was to be a high tea at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, and I love a good scone. So I reluctantly accepted.
Samantha, my sister, is a Libra (but also sometimes an annoying Virgo) so obviously everything needed to be perfect. She did custom floral bouquets of pink carnations down a long table for 30 guests. Each place setting included a name card and a black beanie with the words " Je t' aime" written across. In between the large three tiered trays of scones, tea sandwiches, and desserts were little glass bowls filled with my three favorite candies: mini Reese's cups, Tootsie Rolls, and Hershey's kisses.
I gave little to zero input as to what I wanted for the event aside from insisting no gifts were opened in front of people (awkward), and if we were going to hire strippers, they needed to dress like sexy babies.
The shower was held on a Sunday, October 27 at high noon, and Jason, my wife, popped in around one to work the room, taking photos of everyone at high angles to make them look skinnier.
Teets, my dog of nearly 13 years, one of the great loves of my life, and possibly the father of my unborn son, sat on my lap eating whipped cream while simultaneously pretending to be a service animal, there to assist with any arising psychological issues.
My requests for absolutely no games and "no making me open gifts in front of people" were honored. Sadly, my request for baby strippers was ignored. Next time.
