Gwyn, is that you? Good genes sure do run in the Paltrow family, as evidenced by a stunning (and rare!) new photo Gwyneth Paltrow posted on her Instagram of son Moses, and daughter Apple, who bears an uncanny resemblance to her celeb mom, 42.
In the carefree outdoor photo, Paltrow’s kids with ex Chris Martin are seen goofing off with the family dogs while Gwyneth, er, Apple, 11, wears a helmet. “Brother proof. Sort of,” mom Paltrow joked when sharing the pic with her social media followers on Saturday, June 6.
Fully aware that her family includes many generations of stunningly beautiful women, Paltrow wasn’t shy about sharing a throwback image of her mom, Blythe Danner, on Instagram, and couldn’t help but notice their resemblance to one another. “This is weird,” Paltrow mused of the pic a fan found of Danner, 72, from an old Columbo episode. “Is that me or my mom?”
Danner recently told Today‘s Natalie Morales that Paltrow is often criticized because people are “intimidated” by her and her success. “She’s the most extraordinary girl who can do everything,” Danner gushed of the Goop founder. “Incredible mother, she’s raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for my husband’s oral cancer foundation — things she doesn’t talk about a lot. I’m so proud of her. I think she’s so accomplished that people get kind of intimidated by it.”
For Paltrow, validation that she’s a good mom is paramount. On Mother’s Day last month, Moses, 9, was quick to praise his multitasking mom in a heartfelt, handwritten note. “Dear Mom: You are wonderful because you always help me feed and play with the bunnies. My favorite part of the day is when we watch the bunnies turn around in the garden. Thank you for teaching me how to start a website, I love your website and I wanted to have one too. Love, Momo,” the boy’s card read.
