Hilaria Baldwin slammed people who post negative comments on her Instagram feed after she shared a photo breast-feeding her newborn son.
“Let me be really clear about something,” the 36-year-old wrote in an Instagram post and Story on Saturday, September 12. “I will post here and there about how we are doing. If you send me a comment telling me how much to post or how little, and I happen to see the message, I will just block you.”
“I’m not interested in those opinions,” she continued. “5 kids in, we are happy, healthy, bonded, tired, busy, but blessed. The split second it takes to snap a pic or put it here, on our community that we have built for years, is something I enjoy.”
The Living Clearly Method author — who welcomed son Eduardo Pau Lucas on Tuesday, September 8 — with husband Alec Baldwin, added that she has family and friends who follow her Instagram feed “to stay in touch.”
“Especially now, during Covid, when this is how they will meet Edu,” the “Mom Brain” podcast host continued. “I look back to these pics and am always happy to pause and document. I never regret it. When I see a negative comment, I always wonder…why do you follow me if you don’t like what you see? Now back to my family.”
The former 30 Rock star, 62, posted a supportive comment on his wife’s post, writing, “I am proud of you that you posted this. The content of this page is determined by you and you alone. And NO ONE has better instincts about the public/private wall than you. Those who visit these sites to express their harsh judgments and insinuate how you should conduct yourself deserve one policy. Block them. This is not a debate.”
Celebrity pals including Jamie Lynn Sigler and Josh Brolin commended Hilaria on the post, with Real Housewives of Orange County alum Tamra Judge writing, “Amen! you gotta wonder what is wrong with these people that make these stupid/mean comments. Who does that ?”
Hilaria’s post came four hours after she shared a photo on Instagram showing her breast-feeding her newborn while brushing her teeth. “3.5 days in and we are champs at multitasking,” she captioned the pic along with a laughing crying emoji.
“Some things can just be kept to yourself.. the public does not have to see your whole life on Instagram,” one person commented. “What ever happened to a bit of privacy.. must you put everything out there.. your own husband gets all bent out of shape but yet you expose it all!! Wowza.”
“Hilaria I mean this with much respect…there is no trophy for being the most busy,” another wrote.
Rosie O’Donnell commented that the pic was “beautiful,” while a fan wrote, “If I looked like that 3.5 days after giving birth I would expect a medal and a parade and crown. You look amazing.”
Hilaria — who also shares daughter Carmen, 6, and sons Rafael, 5, Leonardo, 3, and Romeo, 2, with her husband of eight years — also posted a photo on her Stories on Friday, September 11, showing her making a chocolate cake for Leo’s birthday with one hand while holding her baby. “I’ve been deliriously tired, but Leo wants a chocolate cake for his bday, so I was determined not to let him down and bake for tomorrow,” she wrote adding that Edu Pau was acting as “sous chef.”
