Um, surprise?
When pregnant actress Alexis Knapp announced that she was carrying Ryan Phillippe's child at a Hollywood bash in mid-February, it was a complete shock to everyone -- including the alleged dad-to-be!

A source tells the new Us Weekly that Phillippe (who wasn't present at the bash) was blindsided when he heard second-hand about Knapp's very public bombshell. "Alexis hadn't even talked to Ryan before that party," a second source says. (Counters an insider close to the So Undercover actress, who is due in June: "Ryan found out as soon as Alexis did.)

As UsMagazine.com first reported on Monday, the Lincoln Lawyer actor, 36, "doesn't know if he's the father," the first source says, but plans to take a paternity test. (He and Knapp dated on and off for several months before calling it quits in September 2010.)
"If it's his, he'll take responsibility."

One gal in his corner? His ex-wife and mom to his children, Reese Witherspoon!
"Reese has been really supportive," the first source says. "She knows that Ryan is a good dad [to Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7] and she respects that."

Tell Us What You Think
22If he don't plan to have any more kid that a choice it call "Vasectomy"if he not going to have that then don't be surprise LoL
Looks like alot of trouble for Ryans relationship with his girlfriend right now.
How can Ryan be blindsided? If you stick it in, unwrapped, then you should expect this kind of thing to happen. He should have been more careful dipping into a gold digger.
He is saying that there will be a DNA test obviously bc he is unsure. I wonder if she is unsure as well? If she is then one might think it a better idea to keep things quiet until then and not splash it all over the tabloids. She is totally clASSy!! LOL!
Hope, I am referring to women who tout their "right to choose" almost as if its all encompassing. The courts have accorded women the right to choose life or death for their unborn children which is a huge, monumental choice that should never be taken lightly. Alexis seems to take this choice lightly. She comes off opportunistic and manipulative and wow, if I could make a list of adjectives to describe a good prospective parent, those adjectives aren't at the top of the list. Prospective Mothers are automatically accorded these rights and privileges and women like this abuse those rights whereas men are simply perceived as sources of money and portrayed as deadbeats if they don't agree with a woman's choice. I believe fathers are an intregal part of a child's life. I don't understand a woman who announces her unwed pregnancy to the press before telling the father. I think women manipulate their right to choose, in this case for money and I think that's a disservice to the enormous choice of life or death a woman like her is actually making.
Rebecca, I was actually adopted when I was 3 weeks old. My birthparents decided they couldn't give me the life I deserved, and I was given to a family who I can't imagine having grown up without. I'm not saying Alexis is planning on giving her baby up for adoption, because I think she'll end up keeping it and trying to get all the money she can out of Ryan (providing it really is his). But yes, she has the right to choose. I'm not understanding your stance on the "right to choose." I consider the right to choose as Pro-Choice. The other side of that is Pro-Life, where the idea is that women should NOT have the right to choose anything but life for their unborn child. I do agree with you, though, that fathers these days are considered responsible simply because they provide financial support for their children.
Rebecca! Well Said!
@ Rebecca Christiansen: Yay. You tell it! I couldn't agree with you more.
This cracks me up - women define men's position as a "responsible father" by virtue of financial support. Makes me wonder why women should be guaranteed that "right to choose" because so many of them - like this chick - seem to make the wrong choice. Little Alexis needs to grow up before she thinks of having children because gosh, golly they are like real human beings and not toy poodles and their prospective relationships with family should be carefully nurtured and not just played out on the pages of US Magazine. But its Alexis' right to choose..and men have no recourse other than to be portrayed as some philandering playboy. Gotta ask - why is Alexis' virtue intact while Ryan is the scumlord in this scenario? Sorry but she reads as poor white trash to me - pregnant and not married..doesn't her kid deserve a father? I guess not. What does Alexis do that makes this choice the right one for her? How is she going to be supporting the baby? Silly questions I know and no lack of a conclusive answer should get in the way of Alexis bilking Ryan out of millions because she decided to choose unprotected sex that night..any way you look at it - Ryan is going to be the dog while pregnant Alexis - skank that she is - chose to be a mom.
I'm very close to someone who wasn't told he fathered a baby until the child was almost 10 years old. The mother never told the father, and even had another man sign the BC. She confessed years later to having known the whold time but lied. She said that she just didn't want to tell father because of a bitter breakup. How's a man to be a responsible father if he's never given the chance? I'm glad that she at least told Ryan, but the men aren't ALWAYS the bad guys.
Oh, of course, they used protection. Anytime anyone has an unplanned preg they always 'claim' to have used protection b/c they don't want the judgement. Just like Bristol Palin tried saying they used protection and then Levi came clean later saying that "well, we didn't use it ALL the time," No DUH. More lies from women who want to trap men. Women are very calculating and manipulative and know damn well how NOT to get pregnant. Men just don't care b/c they want to get laid
Sunny, rich people disgust you? I am certainly not rich but more power to you if you have money and are able to buy all the things you want! I dont manage rich peoples accounts to know if they donate money to the poor or even know how they are.
Brittany, how do you know that they didn't use protection? Were you there? You do realize that condems only work about 99% of the time. Nothing works 100% other than abstinence. It's too bad this chick didn't tell Ryan before it hit the tabloids...doesn't sound very classy to me at all.
P.S. Sunny, do you even know the meaning of "brown nosing?" Look it up, girl.
There's really no reason for Reese to NOT be supportive. They're not together anymore, and as long as Ryan takes care of his children, there's no reason he won't be a good dad to this one, too. But I'm still hoping it's not his...
It never ceases to amaze me how people can come on here and make comments like "the world is falling apart" and what a "waste of time" gossip is, yet they are on here reading the very same thing...hmmmmmmm
No you are in the wrong state of mind. Stop caring about the stuff that doesn't matter. I love you all, and I care for your hearts. that's why I'm telling you this. Peace.
Blindsided, probaly because they split, haven't heard from each other for months...then she goes to the party and tells EVERY ONE but Ryan,"I'm several months pregnant!" the chic is sneaky!! He had NO idea! How was he supposed to know she was preggo, when he doesn't hear from the girl or see her. She could have told him when she FOUND out instead of hiding it for months!!!!
I was gonna say, you're obviously reading this stuff... and this is a celebrity magazine, not world news.
Uh, blindsided? Hello, when you don't use protection or believe the girl when she says she's on the pill (oldest trick in the book) then expect a baby. These dumb men deserve to get taken for every penny. Wrap it or expect to pay!!!!
