Lost alum Evangeline Lilly gave birth to a baby boy. This is the first child for Lilly, 31, and boyfriend Norman Kali, who worked as a production assistant on the ABC hit.

Lilly recently spoke about how she was happy to be moving on from the show. "People are excited to try on the next chapter of their lives," she told New York Magazine. "This show is all-encompassing. We have had very little experience outside of the show during the last six years because it's just so demanding; it requires so much of us. So, it's exciting to have your freedom back, essentially."

And the Golden Globe nominee, who dated costar Dominic Monaghan from 2004-2009, said that said she wanted to take a hiatus from show business for a while.

"I'm definitely planning on taking a break for a little while," she said. "I consider acting a day job -- it's not my dream; it's not my be-all, end-all."

In totally shock that her and Norm are together, I must be so out of it! As for it being hard, I can imagine it being really tough. I was an extra and one day we worked 15 hours. Try doing that every day and yeah, that gets pretty hard.

Congrats! She is awesome and we miss Lost.

Evangeline is not "biting the hand that feeds her." She has said nothing bad about the show, network or the industry. What she said is that she considers acting to be a "day job" and that she has other interests and things she would like to pursue. She's a well-rounded person. How is that whining or ungrateful?

actually the divorce rate is leveling off at 55% and besides it's been over 50% for 35 years some people just aren't meant to be married even if their are children involved. 200k isn't that big of a paycheck if my dad was working he'd be making about 100k a year and bsides some legendary actors were maing that per film in 1960 when it was actually big money. all that matters is her and baby Norman are healthy

Linda who cares about people being married when the divorce rate is so high? esp when so many people spend long lives together unmarried but r just as commited to each other, from a woman who did it your way!

Maybe she has been aching to be a Mum and couldnt do it during Lost, i know the feeling of aching for a baby and not being able to have one, its hard to think of much else when talking to people!

We live in such a permissive society, what happened to being married before bringing kiddos into this world!

She earned what, $200K per episode? That's a good 4 years salary for most of us. Stop whining and be thankful.

Congrats on the new arrival. Though I agree with you Courtney, in every interview Evangeline is complaining about how haaaaaaaaaaard it is to be an actress. She is never grateful for the opportunities that she's been offered.

Congrats to the happy new family. though in that last paragraph Eveangeline is basically bitting the hand that feeds her and that's the one thing your' never supposed to do. she won't still have a career when she's in her 70's like Vanessa Redgrave does her 15 minutes are basically up
