Mama’s gotta go! Jennifer Hudson’s son, David Jr., really, really loved her Met Gala dress — but not just from a fashion perspective. The American Idol alum shared photos on Monday, May 2, of her little boy trying to take a nap on her four-foot train before she headed off to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in NYC.
Hudson, 34, was in the middle of posing when she was interrupted by the adorable 6-year-old. David Jr. plopped down and sprawled out on her white custom H&M gown. (The singer and her longtime fiancé, David Otunga, welcomed David Jr. in August 2009.)
“Boys, I tell you!! Really munch!” Hudson captioned the pics via Instagram.
The Color Purple actress went on to document the rest of her night, too. She posted several photos during her car ride, as well as a pic of a man helping her with her heels. “Cinderella said forget this show!” she joked via Instagram. “Met ball gown.”
Hudson opened up to Us Weekly about her wardrobe choice during the star-studded affair. “I helped design it,” she said on the red carpet. “So I think it’s the perfect dress for me!”
Hours later — after the festivities came to an end — she tweeted about the memorable evening. “It’s been a very enjoyable night! What better way to spend my off day! Met ball!” she wrote. Some of her favorite highlights? Watching The Weeknd perform and getting to spend time with her pal Ciara. “It’s always a plus when u have a buddy to hang with!” Hudson wrote.
