So thankful. Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald shared a sweet blog post on Thursday, Nov. 26, saying how thankful they are to be parents to their new baby, Spurgeon.
“This Thanksgiving, one of the things we are grateful for is our precious son, Spurgeon Elliot,” the couple wrote. “We are so happy to be parents! As we are embarking on this journey of parenthood, we appreciate all of your prayers.”
Below the post, the TLC stars shared an adorable snap of Spurgeon — whose nickname is Quincy — sleeping in his crib, with a smile on his face. The reality star also shared the pic on her Instagram account.
Later that night, Jessa shared another photo via Instagram, featuring Seewald holding their newborn.
“@BenSeewald I’m so thankful to God for giving me you, Babe!” she captioned the pic. “You’re a gem! I’m so grateful to be married to such a sweet, godly man! These past three weeks have been so precious to me as I have watched you love and care for our son. From his middle of the night diaper changes to his sweet cuddle times with daddy, it melts my heart to see the interaction between you two! You’re such a good daddy! I can’t even begin to put into words how much you mean to me! I’m so happy you’re mine. I feel like the most blessed girl on earth!”
Jessa, 23, and Ben, 20, welcomed their baby boy via a home delivery on Nov. 5, and the couple shared a video on Wednesday, Nov. 11, explaining their reasoning behind their son’s unusual name.
“Charles Spurgeon was a preacher who lived back in the 19th century and had a big impact on our lives,” Seewald explained.
