Jools Oliver Criticized for Post-Baby Body Instagram Photo About ‘Almost’ Fitting Back into Her Pants

Jools Oliver gave birth to her fifth child on August 8, and she’s nearly back to her prepregnancy size. “Finally ‘almost’ fitting into these gorgeous trousers,” the mother of five — who is married to celebrity chef Jamie Oliver — wrote in a September 6 Instagram post. “So comfy post little baby and beyond.”

In the accompanying photo, the children’s clothing designer is seen posing in a white t-shirt while wearing a pair of Ace & Jig pants and Isabel Marant sandals

Jools’ picture received more than 13,000 likes, but one Instagram follower was not impressed.

“I am currently pregnant with my 2nd baby. And every minute of every day Im scrutinizing my weight etc …,” commented one woman. “Pictures like this DO NOT HELP! Shouldn’t you be more concerned about bonding with your child rather than how quickly you fit back into your jeans?”

Rather than let the criticism roll off her back, the designer chose to respond by explaining the photo was a “shout-out” to the designers who sent her the clothes. “Honestly it’s about the trousers!!! I didn’t even think about the weight!!!” she wrote in a reply to her own post. “For god sake I still have heaps to lose … my teashirt hides a lot.”

The former model continued: “The waist of the trousers is elasticated!!!! So prob would have fitted when I was 9 months pregs! As for bonding with my baby … I feel no need to address this ridiculousness.”

Jools and Jamie, 41, are parents of Poppy Honey Rosie, 14, Daisy Boo Pamela, 13, Petal Blossom Rainbow, 7, Buddy Bear Maurice, 6, and River Rocket Blue Dallas, 5 weeks.

“I thought we’d have a couple of kids, but that’s it,” the celeb chef told the U.K.’s The Mirror in March. “Basically, I do what I’m told, but she’s an amazing family maker and I just go with it. I have a weird job, a weird life, but my family keeps me quite real.”
