Video: Kate Slams Jon: I Am Not Choosing Fame Over Kids
While promoting her new book I Just Want You to Know, Kate Gosselin denied her ex Jon's claims that she is choosing fame over her kids. (Last week, Jon, 33, filed papers dubbing Kate, 35, an "absentee" mom and asking a Pennsylvania judge for primary custody of their eight children.)
"I am a working mom and cameras are on me, so people catch me traveling or working," she said on the Today show Tuesday (see clip, above). "I've got to work harder now than ever because I am a single mom and in my heart, I am always in my kitchen baking and cooking for my kids, and I will always be there. It is a struggle to be here ... I would rather be at home with them. But I have to work. I have to provide for them. It's a struggle every single mom goes through."
Juggling Dancing With the Stars and motherhood is hard, she said. "I am on the first flight as soon as the show lets me out, and that's my night of sleep," she said. "I get home and I dance and I am done by the time they get home from school and I spend the rest of the week with them. It's difficult." Despite her hectic schedule, she said she makes "the most of every minute I do have with them." Added Kate, "They know I have to work ... they don't like it. But when I am home, we make those little spots of time really big in our memories."

348All this woman does is LIE. If she would just speak the truth, but everything she says is a lie. She loves TV cameras in her face. To many things she has contradicted herself by saying. Habitual liar.
I am sick of hearing Kate complain. She knew when she obligated herself to this show what would be required. Anyone who has ever watched the show knows that they practice for numerous hours and also daily as well. What did she think was going to happen in her case? Special conditions or provisions? They did accommodate her with a dance floor in her basement at no charge so she could practice at home. DWTS has done everything in their power to provide her with anything she might need so she can not only practice but spend time with her kids. Bottom line is she is a terrible dancer and I believe she is just making excuses for her performances. I must admit with some guilt quite enjoy her critiques. She gets so pissed off it is pretty funny.
I am sick to death of that woman. Kate: Shut up, shut up, shut up about your kids, about being a "single mom" - just shut up, period. And go away.

Toni Fitzgerald doesn't believe people should dismiss the possibility of Gosselin finding ratings success again with her planned new reality show "Twist of Kate." The series will follow the single mother as she travels around the country visiting with people and families facing challenges. "It's important to note that while there are a lot of people who dislike her, there are probably just as many who support her and feel a real connection with her," Fitzgerald said. Michael K. said he believes those supporters are keeping the reality star in the limelight. "She probably has even more fans than she does detractors," he said. "If you have seen her on 'Dancing with the Stars' you know that she is horrible and yet she is back week after week." Wowoow I lost count how many times this woman said "single mom" yesterday on the 3 or 4 or was it 5 appearances she made on CALIFORNIA talk shows.She claims she goes home right after the show?? LOL No one calls her on this. Another lie she tells. I am sick of this overexposed, drama queen. Any job that will take her away from those kids for days and weeks at a time will do. Yup Kate you are so poor. Please, for GOD'S sake stop the BS. You love the spot light, own it, STOP using the kids (again) for your own desperate, pathetic desire for stardom. did anyone see the Pennsy child labor law hearing? her brother and sister-in-law testified about what they feel about how reality tv hurts kids, using many examples of the gosselin kids. of course, kate says it is all lies but all of it is memorialized on film. but watch, tlc will start making those all go away.
i cannot believe that supposed journalists are refusing to ask kate the relevant questions, instead allowing her to lie her way thru interviews - allowing kate to ascertain that just because she says something, that makes it true. do you believe casey anthony when she says that she cares about her child? it is the exact same thing and i am sick to death of it.
She needs to give up the kids before she damages them any more!

umm whatever she has two new shows coming up and she's not choosing fame over her kids ya right...she is a liar and a terrible mother who for one thing should not be trying to get a whole bunch of attention when it is ruining the lives of her kids also one of her shows is about trying to help other families...how's she gonna help those families the same way she helped hers by getting a divorce.

I think she should try to find a job closer to home. How many single parents have jobs that are 3000 miles away from their kids? If something happens to one of her kids she isnt an 1 hour away she is a plane ride away. She is 3000 miles away and leaving the responsibilty of her kids to babysitters for days. Is she doing this for her kids or for her own satisfaction?
