Katherine Heigl: Dressing Baby Naleigh Is "Stressing Me Out"

For Katherine Heigl, it's tough being a Hollywood mom. Blame Katie Holmes and Angelina Jolie -- who famously deck out their daughters in high-priced tot-couture.
"Dude, I try, but I'm not nailing the baby fashion. It's intimidating," Heigl says of competition like Suri Cruise and Zahara Jolie-Pitt in the June issue of Harper's Bazaar. She and husband Josh Kelley are parents to Naleigh, 18 months, whom they adopted from Korea.

"I get beautiful outfits from Gap and baby Juicy, but I'm not layering it or putting her in Prada flats. It's really stressing me out," Heigl confesses.
But the former Grey's Anatomy star, 31, doesn't intend on indulging her child. "I want her privilege to afford her to seek many different things that might fulfill her," Heigl explains.
"I don't want her to have a Beemer on her 16th birthday or spend the summer at a beach house with friends. Nope. You want a beach house, you pay for it."

But when Naleigh interrupts a romantic moment between Mom and Dad, Heigl doesn't sweat it. The actress admits to the magazine that her daughter once threw up on her lingerie. "If parent time interferes with sexy time, that's that," she says.
Heigl tells the magazine that Naleish was born with a congenital heart problem, one fixed with open-heart surgery before she left Korea. "Her heart is 100 percent fine now," Heigl says. "She has a scar, so she won't be wearing bikinis, which is fine by us."

Following her Grey's departure, the actress spent a luxurious but intense three months off with her husband at their vacation home in Utah. "There were a good few weeks when I almost smothered [Josh Kelley] with his pillow," she admits.
No worries, she adds. She and Kelly are simply "two people with totally different lives and totally different experiences just trying to fit."
Killers, her new flick with Ashton Kutcher, comes out June 4.

Why don't these people adopt from the country they live in? I think it's great that they do this, but we have way too many of our own children in the USA that need homes....
I'm glad your instilling in your baby that you must work or earn everything you get in life, that's the best teaching I know. I commend you Katherine.

she looks like a second rate princess grace in that picture granted Princess Grace did her one better as the Princess won an oscar for best actress something ms Heigl will never do

Talk about out of touch with the real world.....no kid needs to wear Prada, etc., no matter who their parents are. Baby Gap is just fine and a lot cuter!

Ugh. I used to like Katherine back in the My Father The Hero and Roswell days, but every time she opens her mouth in interviews lately she comes across as arrogant and out of touch. So you're trying to prove how down to earth you will be with your daughter by "denying" her a beach house? Poor baby will only get free reign of your mansions but NOT THE BEACH HOUSE BY GOD. You'll only buy her a Lexus instead of a BMW? You feel intimidated by not keeping up with your fellow grossly wealthy, hire-stylists-for-their-children celebrities? Gimme a break. I'm sick of her conceitedness.

And I thought Katherine Heigl had more sense than this. If she wants to use another Hollywood mom as an example of what to buy for her kids, I suggest Jennifer Garner - her girls always look like NORMAL little girls - jeans, tees, hoodies, sneakers, etc.
Why would it be stressing her out she dresses her kid the way she wants.These Hollywood glamour types are downright festidious.
Wow what a crazy lady..I was stressed out because I was a new parent & I worried about her health, and if I was doing everything right.. Just enjoy your baby. Don't worry about impressing your fellow actors for HE!!S sake!

I love the black and white picture they did of her! She looks like a starlet from the fifties! However, back to the topic, I think she is joking about keeping up with, or stressing out about, baby fashion. If you listen to her other comments, it is quite clear she doesn't want her child to be spoiled in that fashion.
no she doesn't get it raising a child with special needs is hard work I should know I'm one myself leagally blind with a bleeding disorder and Autism besides Kat isn't even a major star so she should keep her trap shut
To the person who said she should buy her clothes at Walmart...LOL! Like anyone would be shopping at Walmart if they were rich, including you. Not buying Prada for a baby is one thing, but nobody is going to Walmart if they have a budget that can afford better.
Little kids grow out of their clothes so quickly at this age. I wouldn't worry about it.
