I can't believe Thanksgiving is here!

While I usually have it at my house and do all of the cooking, this year is extra special, because I am going to my father's house in Arizona. So, instead of being with my mother and her side of the family, I will be with Dad and his side, which will be a nice change. I'm especially looking forward to catching up with all of my sisters and their children.

The baby and I had a check-up this week. I'm happy to report that the doctor said everything looked good. After my check-up, I popped into the maternity store, A Pea in the Pod, to pick up some clothes for the holiday weekend.

Truth be told, I really don't need to buy any more maternity clothes; I still have the items I wore when I was pregnant with Curtis Jr. a couple of years ago. However, those are housed in storage units about 8 miles away from my house -- and I seem to have a tricky time holding on to the keys. Over the past two years, I've had to ask one of the owners to break my lock at least five times.

After some disastrous trips to the unit a few weeks ago -- I thought I had the wrong keys, then realized I was trying to open someone else's locker by mistake -- I've finally got all of my momma gear. And it happened just in time: I'm tired of trying to squeeze into my regular jeans and unbutton them when I sit down.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends. The new  year is right around the corner, so this is a great time for all of us to start reflecting on this past year and think about how we can make 2011 a happy, healthy and fulfilling  year for us all.
