Brandi Glanville is definitely not impressed with LeAnn Rimes' skills as a stepmother. Still, country singer Rimes, 30, says in a new E! News special that she's eager to become a mom herself.
"Eddie and I talk about having kids and I would love to be a mom," Rimes tells Giuliana Rancic in an upcoming E! News special. Married to Eddie Cibrian' since early 2011, she is stepmom to Mason, 9, and Jake, 5, the actor's kids with first wife Glanville. "I didn't ever want to bring a child into the world without taking care of myself. And that was another reason I decided to go (into treatment)," adds the star, who underwent a 30-day program in August for stress and anxiety.
Glanville recently told Us Weekly's Rebecca Bienstock that Mason became "extremely ill" after eating of Rimes' laxatives by accident, mistaking it for candy.
"These are my children and I don't want this unstable person around them when she's alone," said Glanville, who also resented a recently posted video of little Jake riding a bicycle without a helmet.
(Rimes' rep counters that Glanville's claims are "inaccuracies and half-truths.")
Rimes' decision to end her own marriage to Dean Sheremet as Cibrian divorced Glanville wasn't easy, she points out. "No one will ever understand how much thought and hurt were put into our decision."
She also offers more insight into her brief rehab stay: "I was incredibly depressed and not quite sure of who I was," she says. "People are so quick to judge and make decisions for themselves about situations they know absolutely nothing about."
Adds her husband Cibrian: "My heart goes out to her every single time she's getting bashed for something. It's unfair for her and it’s unfair for us. It (the affair) wasn't frivolous, you know."
